Early results from the long awaited Southwest Pennsylvania Environmental Health Project Study are now being published. Both sides of the gas drilling controversy are likely to take away different views of the same results. So it is important to keep abreast of what is being published and know who is publishing it. Either way, this study is important as it is the first attempt to formally address public health concerns in gas drilling regions noted for using high volume hydraulic fracturing.

I came away with a slight feeling of some relief that at least the door is officially open to understanding there are cause/effect concerns and that these are quite serious. Much more needs to be studied as the tentacles of this technology protrude into so many avenues.
When is the last time you saw/read The Hunger Games? We must never become a society where the golden elite party in the sparkling city while multitudes suffer to provide that atmosphere!
